Art and design have always been a constant in my life, these two words define my passion from an early age. I remember when I was a young girl, always laying down on the floor drawing. My favorite pastimes included drawing, painting, scrapbooking and making jewelry with my hands. My bedroom always looked like an arts and crafts shop, with paper and paint laying in perfect disorder on the floor.
Years later I started expressing my emotions and ideas on different surfaces, such as ceramics, guitars, shoes, canvas, etc…
Wanting to visit every museum on each city I went, I filled my sketchbook with drawings of things that caught my attention, or inspiration on the go, either in my own city, or in my travels.
This is precisely why I love to travel, because it allows me to open my mind to new ideas and rid myself of old paradigms. It allows me to get to know new places, people and inspiration from many cultures. My appreciation for art increases as I get to know new places, no matter if it is in my own town or overseas.
My sketchbook is my best travel companion, I always take it with me to paint and write every bit of inspiration. Plus I really believe amazing things happen when you put your dreams and plans to paper!
I studied Industrial Design in ITESM, and had the opportunity to study abroad in New Zealand and Italy for a year, where I learned more about myself and life than I did in the classroom. I got to meet amazing people whom I still call my friends and who taught me that there is no one right way to live, but to do what feels right for you in any given moment. I learned to be alone and to enjoy being in my own company, to get inspired not only by what I see but also by the way I feel, and this is in great part reflected on my pieces.
